Samvat 2071-The year of Hope and Fear!

Hindu New Year or Nav Varsh Samvat is celebrated on every Chaitra Shukl Pratipada (March – April).This day is marked by many significations and is considered to be highly auspicious because of following events- 

Importance of Chaitra Shukl Pratipada 

It is believed that Lord Brahma, started the creation of world on this day, hence the day is called Yugaadi (Yug + Aadi = beginning of the Yug) day. This calendar is mentioned in Anuwalk 6, Sookta 25 and mantra 8 of Rigvedah Sanhita. And thus has been in practice for at least 6000 years before Buddha. 



Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Matasya on this day. 

On this day the sun assumes a position above the Vasant intersection (the point of intersection of the equator and the meridians) and the spring season commences. Thus Vasant Navratri also commences on this day. Along with this Gudi Padawa and Ugadi are also celebrated on this day. 

This day is also known as one among the three and a half auspicious days or Swayam Siddh Muhurata’s during the year 

Hindu Alamance Vikram Samvat also commenced on this day. 

Hindu New Year – Samvat 2071 
In 2014, the Nav Samvat begins on March 31. Samvat 2071 will start on Monday under the influence of Siddh Yoga and will be known by the name Plavang. The ruler of this samvat is Lord Indra. The King and Minister for this Samvat is Moon. Lord of weather, rain and water resources is Sun. Mercury is the lord of metals and trading, lord of nectar and natural juices is Venus. Lord of fruits and flowers is Saturn. Both Mercury and Mars are financial head and security chief is Saturn.

Samvat 2071 and India 

India’s independence chart has Taurus ascendant and Cancer moon sign. During this year Jupiter will keep on transiting in 12th house from cancer sign leading to political unrest. With transiting Saturn aspect on 11th house of gains till 2nd November 2014 financial situations may dwindle at times. Once this period passes by financial stability and growth shall be there. 

On 18th June 2014, Jupiter will transit to moon sign cancer and will stay there till 14th July 2015.Cancer sign rules the moon sign of India. Jupiter exalts in Cancer and being in this sign it envisage all round prosperity for Indian Democracy. India under new leadership shall move forward on a way of glorious future. 
Taking note of Samvat 2071 in synchronization with transits envisage mixed impact for all. On one hand with moon being the king and minister of the year women empowerment will get a boost but on other hand there shall be distress among masses. Thefts, diseases, unethical practices shall be on rise. On international platform there can be strained relations. Though Monsoon can be bleak but it will not impact much on crop and fruit harvest. There shall be rise in cultural and religious events. Price of precious metals shall be on rise. There shall be improvement in law and order. Science and technologic inventions shall make a rapid advancement.

Various Moon sign and Samvat 2071 
Till 18th June, Jupiter might not turn favorable for natives with Cancer and Scorpio moon sign. But for natives with Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius moon sign it will act as a savior. With Jupiter moving to sign Cancer and transiting in the same sign till July 15th, 2015 people with Libra, Scorpio or Pisces moon sign shall attain beneficence. 

Till 2nd November 2014, natives with Scorpio and Sagittarius moon sign shall face the storm by posed by transiting Saturn. On a positive note despite being under influence of sadde satti natives with Libra moon sign shall enjoy pleasant moments.
