Astrology and Ayurveda

Astrology and Ayurveda are deeply connected with each other. Astrology deals with the karmic process of man and to get rid of the cycle of birth and death it is very important to have a sound body and mind only then one can reach out his/ her soul. Ayurveda emphasises that primarily there are three doshas (tridosh) and any imbalance in the basic attributes of these three evils (dosha) leads to various diseases. These doshas are known – Vat (wind), Pitta (heat) and cough (phlegm). In astrology lagna, Sun and Moon corresponds to Vat, Pitta and Cough. Primarily lagna or ascendant deals with body or general strength and weakness of the person. Sun of course deals with Pitta or heat and cough is represented by Moon. These are the basics of both the subjects as we go deeper into the nature of the disease and its consequences then one has to take care of many more factors into account.  Charak Samhita is a famous granth (text) on Ayurveda written long back by the legendary physician Charak.  In his book he says an Ayurvedacharya, while attending a new patient should always keep in account celestial bodies in the sky and combine this with his perfect knowledge of Ayurveda to know the exact depth of disease and the time it will take to cure.

In astrology 6th house and its lord indicates disease, 8th house and its lord denotes the longevity of the disease and 12th house and its lord represents the time, money and inconvenience and suffering of the person by a particular disease. There are many more factors which also need to be looked into like the influence of malefic planets on these houses and incapability of benefic planets to help the subject or native. The dasa, mahadasa at the time of occurring disease and particular negative dasa also gives the indication of onset of disease at a particular age of the native. The importance of transit can also not be ignored.  If the planets and transit are aggravating the negative factors of the chart then disease could be chronic or fatal depending on the intensity of the total configuration.

The chart in question of a boy reads as under: His lagna is Taurus and its lord Venus is debiliated in the 5th house and afflicted by Rahu. The first condition of negativity has been fulfilled by the weak lagna and its lord. When the lagna lord is weak it denotes misfortune from various quarters at different times of native's life. The 6th house which denotes disease is occupied by debiliated Sun and Mercury. There is an exchange between the lord of 5th and 6th Mercury and Venus which again indicates the complexity of the chart. Lagna lord is weak and its exchange with the 6th disease lord Mercury does not augur well for good health. Right now Jupiter's mahadasa and sub of Venus is in operation till December 2017. Jupiter, the lord of 8th house which denotes the length of disease and in navamsa Jupiter is afflicted by Ketu and debiliated in the 8th house. All these factors put together indicates that Jupiter is not good and lord of lagna Venus is not good and following sub dasa of Sun may not provide a needed comfort next year – 2018 also.

To add fuel to the fire Mars which is the lord of 7th house (spouse) is debiliated in the 3rdhouse indicating there is a total enmity between husband and wife which is clearly seen from the boy's chart. If we try to understand the chart of the girl then things will be much more clear to interpret. Girl's lagna is Gemini and Sun, Mercury, Mars are present in it. Due to the combination of all these planets the nature of the girl is fiery and she has her own agenda to fulfill. Moon who represents mind is afflicted by Rahu in the 11th house also joined by Venus. 5th house is occupied by retrograde Saturn and afflicted by Ketu. In girl's chart lord of 7th house Jupiter is debiliated in the 8thhouse further deteriorating the marital harmony and creating a lot of tension among the couple.

Coming back to the boy's chart my advice would be to go for biopsy and make sure of the exact nature of the disease. If falling ill is a bad luck or karma then getting right treatment is a good luck. There is a silver lining :  the aspect of Jupiter on the Sun. Jupiter is posited in the 2nd house and Sun is placed in the 6th house. Next sub period of Jupiter – Sun will operate for a year approximately. This period will help him to overcome disease as well as nuances of bad wedlock.

One should never run away from life and on the contrary learn to face it boldly. In the realms of multi-universes the sojourn of soul is infinite and nobody has the right to shut it midway.
