Lord Ganesh had a pot belly. Therefore, when he prostrated, his face and legs moved like a seesaw. The moon god started laughing at this sight. Ganesh wanted to put an end to the arrogance and pride of the good looking moon. He cursed the moon god saying he will start eroding and vanish one fine day.
