Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the holiest shrines in India dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located on the mountain Mandhata by the banks of Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines in India. The Shiva lingam here is split in 2 halves – one in Omkareshwar temple and the other one in Mammaleshwar temple. For the complete pilgrimage, it is necessary to visit both the places.

The special day of Lord Shiva – Shravan Shivratri is celebrated with great endeavour at Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga temple. Special pujas are performed on this day.
